“Nestled into the rolling northern countryside of the Eastern Continent, Henford-on-Bagley is a small, cozy farming community perfect for those sims in search of a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. Don’t let the appearance of this sleepy cottage town fool you, however - there is no shortage of small-town drama to go around here.”

When looking over the beautiful rolling hills and cottage-style architecture of Henford-on-Bagley, it’s easy to forget what kind of drama small towns can hide behind their quaint exteriors. The Briarley family settled it’s roots in Henford generations ago, and have served as the well-respected keepers of Henford tradition for just as long. But recent years have brought unprecedented change - the Briarley family is falling apart.
Adell and Kael’s marriage had been holding tension ever since the twins were born - with five kids running around, anyone would be going a little mad. But it’s more than that - Adell’s childhood crush, Sylvia, has recently gone through a divorce that leaves Adell tempted into adultery, and Kael is keeping the true state of their finances a secret from Sylvia. Even their eldest son, Nygel, has become embittered by his father’s insistent expectation that he take over the family farm, and has grown distant and rebellious.
Meanwhile, Jesse Calloway recently moved into the Briarley family’s spare rooms as a live-in ranch-hand, running from a past in Windenburg he’d rather forget. But things are never that simple, and despite his best efforts to avoid conflict, he’s found himself living right in the thick of it. Can he mediate the growing tensions between the members of the Briarley family, or will he simply have to watch as they crash and burn before his eyes?
And then there is Zenith Winterdawn - a complete outsider to Henford-on-Bagley, carrying heavy secrets she’d do anything to keep under wraps. Henford’s problems are not theirs - but they desperately crave a home and community they’ve never had, but how can she join a community that is already disintegrating?

Write a few generalized sentences here about these locations and how they influence the story of this world. When choosing these locations, try to include places that fill a variety of roles in the story, such as a central gathering place where characters tend to run into each other (whether they want to or not), an emotionally charged or secret location that holds emotional significance for one or more characters, and an intimate home location where sims may have heart-to-heart conversations or bonding moments.
Write a brief blurb describing this location. What does the location look like? What is it’s emotional atmosphere? What is it’s location relative to other nearby locations? What role does the location fulfill in the story? What meaning does this location hold to the characters? Optionally, add a second column to the right or left of this blurb with an image of the location.

Once a cozy community rich with tradition and culture, Henford-on-Bagley’s sense of community has been tested by recent events. With so many outsiders drawn to Henford’s idyllic countryside setting, old locals moving away for faster-paced lives, and generational cornerstones crumbling under the pressure of family conflict, one thing is for sure… Whatever happens next, Henford will be changed forever by it.
The Briarley family is among the oldest and most successful families in Henford, but recent events threaten to pull them apart. Adell Briarley’s dance with temptation threatens to tear apart her already tense marriage with Kael Briarley for good - and the well-respected reputation of the Briarley family along with it. Their eldest son, Nygel Briarley, couldn’t care less about the family farm or their legacy - he just wants to run away to Mount Komorebi to chase his dream of becoming a snowboarding champion. Hazel Briarley would gladly take over the family farm, but she’s probably a bit too much of a wild child to handle the responsibility - even when she became old enough. And who knows if there will ever be a farm to take over by then - after all, Kael has been hiding the serious state of their finances from Adell for some time, but he won’t be able to hide it forever.
Sylvia Rockwell’s parents may not have been from Henford-on-Bagley, but she was born there, and it was her town, too. Growing up, she and Adell Briarley were thick as thieves, but after she confessed romantic feelings to Adell, their friendship fell apart. She never stopped regretting the loss of that relationship, even decades later - but she eventually moved on and found a partner in Jessica Jane , who she married and lived with for several decades. A rising conflict over adopting children eventually led to divorce papers, but the heartache may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Her divorce caught the attention of the woman she’d never quite got over, and the changing social climate meant Adell was no longer as afraid to be seen with a woman. But she has her own marriage now - and can Sylvia really justify rekindling the spark of her love for a married woman?
Jesse Calloway never really meant to get involved in Henford’s drama, but now here he is, right in the thick of it after moving into the Briarley family’s guest rooms as a live-in ranch hand. His mediator instincts are itching to get involved, but this conflict is far bigger than he alone can resolve - and he’s a little more preoccupied with figuring out why Zenith Winterdawn seems so damn familiar to him. Meanwhile, Zenith struggles to moor herself in the shifting tides of Henford’s social climate, desperate for a sense of community and belonging she’s never had - but that seems so far out of reach.
